At Cook's we are always up for a challenge and when the opportunity to work with the RHS came about we could not resist.
The big idea behind the project was to demonstrate that everyone can enjoy gardening. That with a little TLC & Westland West Plus Compost & Westland Feed All it is possible to bring some summer sunshine to every garden, patio, or out door space.
To demonstrate the point old bras, boxer shorts and jockey pants can with a little imagination be turned in to containers to hold compost and in to that you can grow your plants.
It is not too late to create your own Braskets and Plant
Pants - here at Cook's Garden Centre you will find Westland West Plus Compost and Westland Feed All on sale
coupled with a great range of plants to make up your own interpretation of this fun idea.
Let face it if you are not enjoying it you are unlikely to keep doing it and that applies to gardening as much as anything else. The Braskets project has created a terrific amount of humour, and anything which puts a smile on peoples faces has to be a good thing.
Cooks Gives BackOn Sunday 12th July at the end of the Hampton Court Show Cooks sold off the Braskets and Plant Pants and donated the £230 proceeds to charity. Sadly many of us are aware of people who have been affected by Breast, Testicular or Prostrate Cancer and Cook's take a pride in doing our bit to help raise funds for worthy charities who work to help combat the effects of these diseases.
If you are not able to get along to the Hampton Court RHS Show you can gain a snap shot of the event by clicking on the download video link.
Call in to Cook's Garden Centre for help and planting suggestions.

The RHS estimate that since the Grow Your Own Campaign began in 2007 in that time it has helped more than 500,000 people experiment and enjoy with the benefits of growing something for themselves.

FAQ
Q. Why don't my baskets look as good as my neighbours?
A. Not only do baskets need watering typically daily but every other day add some plant feed to the water.
Here at Cook's we have been relying on Westlands Nutri Feed to help bring our plants on.
Cook's started the braskets off in Westland Peat Free Multi Purpose Compost which is ideal for great results.
Too many people make the mistake of selecting the cheapest multi-purpose compost and are then disappointed with the results. A good quality compost will easily repay you with superb flowers & vegetables.
With less than 6 weeks from the project start to the Hampton Court Show there was no time for compromise and to help the plants along Cook's added Westland Feed All to the compost to ensure a constant stream of nutrients to the plants to help promote growth.
